Mikael Sydor
Mikael Sydor is a registered architect and Associate at ERA Architects in Toronto. His work focuses on the conservation and adaptive reuse of existing buildings, with a specialization in deep energy retrofits and the renewal of non-market housing. He integrates architectural design with building performance to support low-carbon, resilient, and socially responsible outcomes.
Mikael has played a key role in nationally recognized projects, including the Ken Soble Tower transformation and the St. Hilda’s Towers renewal. Both projects demonstrate the potential of existing buildings to meet ambitious climate and housing goals. His work reflects a commitment to architectural quality, technical rigour, and equity in the built environment.
He holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Toronto and is a WELL Accredited Professional. Mikael regularly contributes to industry dialogue through conferences and publications on retrofit and decarbonization strategies.
