<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/strong> When<\/strong>: Thursday, June 7th, 6:30\u201311pm; Where<\/strong>: Fort York, Toronto; How much<\/strong>: Free Entry, Cash Bar<\/p>\n Each year we get together with Toronto Society of Architects<\/a>, Spacing Magazine<\/a>, and other partners to hold our Toronto the Good event, a chance to mingle, chat, and compare notes about what has been and what will come to be. This year we return to Fort York<\/a> to coincide with the unveiling of Luminato’s Encampment<\/em><\/a>, which consists of 200 low-lit tents, each telling a different story from civilian accounts of the War of 1812. Or to RSVP directly, please fill out this form<\/a>.<\/p>\n In addition celebrating our city, ERA is celebrating some exciting news of its own. <\/strong>First, we have three new specialized staff appointments: Victoria Angel MA<\/strong>, Dean of School, Willowbank, and Senior Heritage Planner, ERA; Josh Thorpe MVS<\/strong>, Communication Manager; and Julie Tyndorf BURPl<\/strong>, Planner.<\/p>\n We also have several professional development successes to announce: Joey Giaimo<\/strong> is now a licensed Architect, having received his seal at the beginning of 2012; and Brendan Stewart<\/strong> is now a licensed Landscape Architect, having received his seal at the end of 2011. Amy Norris<\/strong>\u2019s master\u2019s thesis, \u201cTar Creek Supergrid<\/a>\u201d has attracted attention from the OAA<\/a> awards, the International Architectural Biennale of Rotterdam<\/a>, ARUP\u2019s Phase 2<\/a> gallery in London, and both Volume<\/a><\/em> and Bracket<\/a><\/em> magazines.<\/p>\n In Tower Renewal<\/a><\/strong> project news, ERA is collaborating with planningAlliance<\/a>, the United Way<\/a>, and the City of Toronto to explore possible zoning amendments to Toronto\u2019s \u201capartment neighbourhoods.\u201d These amendments would allow new and exciting possibilities for small businesses and community projects in Toronto’s high-rise neighbourhoods throughout the City.<\/p>\n And finally, we are also pleased to announce an upcoming project out east: Andrew Pruss<\/strong> and Alana Young<\/strong> will be heading to Newfoundland and Labrador to lead a \u201cculture lab\u201d with a group of Ryerson University<\/a> students.
