Jeff Hayes is a graduate from Dalhousie University with a Masters in Architectural Conservation. Before relocating to Toronto, he worked on new building and restoration projects throughout Nova Scotia, including rebuilding St.John’s Anglican Church (1754) in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia – a UNESCO World Heritage Site – after it was nearly destroyed in a fire. Jeff also worked on St.George’s Round Church (1800) in Halifax, a Palladian style structure, after it was similarly damaged. He also completed a contract with Parks Canada at the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site in Cape Breton.

Since arriving in Toronto, he has been involved in numerous conservation projects at all stages of the architectural process. Projects have ranged from cultural (Artscape Wychwood Barns redevelopment) to the ecclesiastical, and from small craft-like projects (Eglinton St.George’s Church stained glass window restoration) to multi-block developments incorporating heritage structures. As project architect on the Cambridge City Hall restoration, he has expanded his project management experience. Jeff is also a member of the Canadian Association of Heritage Professionals.
