The Firgrove Dreams Big Courts are the first Giants of Africa basketball courts in Toronto and ERA’s sixth collaboration with the MLSE Foundation.

The revitalized courts at Firgrove Park, in the Jane and Finch neighbourhood, highlight the impact of strategic partnerships, bringing together public and corporate partners to help advance community access to quality recreational spaces. ERA, serving as the design consultant, ensured the vision and needs of the community and the different project partners aligned on a design developed in collaboration with the Giants of Africa team.

“We are thrilled to open the basketball courts at Firgrove Park, creating a safe and vibrant space for our youth to play, learn and grow. This is not just about basketball; it’s about building a community where dreams can take flight.”

– Mayor Olivia Chow

The courts include a full-size FIBA court and a second multi-use court, creating opportunities for play and community engagement. To complement the play experience, the space includes an expanded spectator seating area and welcomes park users with a custom-designed Firgrove Dreams Big court sign.

The revitalized courts reflect Giants of Africa’s commitment to using basketball to inspire, educate, and uplift young people across Africa and now in Toronto.
