In the heart of the Village of Creemore, an underutilized park and adjacent building were transformed into a cultural landmark and vibrant green space.

Initiated by a local advocacy group, ERA worked with them to reach their vision by shepherding a public consultation program, including extensive research, community engagement, and preliminary design work. Over two years, ERA and 700-plus community members concluded an active green space and a future-proof public amenity would foster joie de vivre on the village’s main street and enhance connections to Creemore’s storied past.

ERA gathered the many colourful ideas into a design brief that eventually led to the rebuilding of the park into Creemore Village Green, led by PFS Studio. ERA designed the refurbished park’s new bandshell, a focal point since opening in the Summer of 2022. Inspired by the site’s ties to the railway, the bandshell incorporates industrial aesthetics, rail station motifs, and contemporary geometries.

Creemore residents and visitors now enjoy seasonal festivals and events at the Creemore Village Green; a culturally significant project celebrated and made possible by many.
