Zak Fish
Zak Fish is a licenced architect with the Ontario Association of Architecture and has over a decade of experience in the field. Zak is an alumnus of the University of Waterloo, where he was the recipient of several awards and research grants. His experience spans a diverse range of projects, including institutional work, skyscrapers, cottages, disaster relief housing, furniture, and art at offices in Amsterdam, New York, Toronto and Nicaragua. At ERA, Zak is leading development and implementation of CAD, BIM, and LiDAR scanning processes, helping to implement conservation, interpretation and architectural design for projects that include the University of Alberta Commons, and the Residences on Lombard as published in The Signs that Define Toronto.
Zak’s most recent work at the King Toronto Condos with Bjarke Ingles Group and Mirvish Village involves the retention of 28 heritage buildings as part of their transformation into new, holistic mixed-use developments. Continually learning from the built and natural environment, his explorations and writing can be found in various publications, including Architecture and Videogames — Intersecting Worlds and Remnants of Mid-Century Toronto.
