Rui Felix
As ERA’s lead landscape architect, Rui provides leadership across the office, focusing on cultural landscape revitalization, adaptive re-use, and community engagement. He has a record of award-winning projects that have positively contributed to more resilient, healthy, and complete neighbourhoods. Rui has led several public realm improvements across Ontario, from initial feasibility assessments through to project execution, and frequently collaborates with other design firms in providing a narrative analysis of a place’s natural and cultural heritage values that informs more inclusive design strategies.
Rui is an ISA Certified Arborist who lends his expertise to the development of tree preservation plans, ensuring the safety and health of the urban canopy and compliance with tree protection bylaws.
Rui received his Bachelor of Design with Distinction from the Environmental Design Program at OCAD University (2013) and his Master of Landscape Architecture degree at the University of Toronto, where he won the 2015 ASLA Student General Design Honour Award.
