Malek Abdel-Shehid

Malek (he/him) is a member of the planning team at ERA Architects and involved in projects across Toronto. He holds a BA (Hons.) Human Geography (Focus in Planning), Diaspora & Transnational Studies, and African Studies from the University of Toronto. Malek is currently pursuing a certificate of Applied Digital Geography & GIS at Ryerson University Chang School.  

His approach to planning is informed by an interest in cultural geography, equitable urban redevelopment, heritage conservation, and digital geography. Malek is committed to advancing equity and transformative change in the planning profession. Prior to joining ERA, he worked on projects ranging from transportation planning to anti-racist and equitable community planning to youth engagement.
