Luke McElcheran

Luke McElcheran has a Master of Architecture degree from Carleton University. His thesis research examined heritage policy in Toronto identifying opportunities to better support skilled trades careers in the heritage sector. This research was funded by the NSERC CREATE Heritage Engineering program and was awarded the Azrieli School of Architecture’s Maxwell Taylor Award for research engaged with building technology. He is interested in the relationship between the policy and economic priorities that shape the conservation sector and the day-to-day practical challenges of doing conservation work. Alongside his architectural background, Luke’s prior experiences working in arts education and graphic design equipped him with the skills that support a longstanding interest in architectural illustration.
