Heather McArthur
Heather is a registered architect with a multi-disciplinary background in Communications, urban development, and Architecture. Through this varied exposure, she has acquired a deep appreciation for the complexities of working with historic buildings and sites and developed a keen focus on the critical intersection of architectural conservation, contemporary design, and development. She specializes in heritage conservation, adaptive reuse, and heritage planning.
Over her career, Heather has participated in the delivery of diverse projects ranging from building condition assessments, pre-design and feasibility studies, heritage planning and master planning; to design, renovation, and construction. Heather routinely collaborates in multidisciplinary team settings, including coordinating the efforts of conservation and materials specialists. Since joining ERA, Heather has worked on the conservation, rehabilitation, and adaptive reuse of various buildings and sites. Her current projects include the West Memorial Building and Centre Block Rehabilitation projects.
Outside of her professional role, Heather has been a long-time, active participant in community heritage organizations. She is fluently bilingual in English and French.
