Douglas de Gannes

Douglas de Gannes is engaged in a number of ERA’s significant conservation and restoration projects. Serving as Project Architect, Douglas worked on the construction administration and close-out in restoring the John Taylor House, an award-winning conservation project and key component of the recently completed residence for the Sisters of St. Joseph of Toronto.

He frequently provides similar services within Toronto and elsewhere, and also leads Approvals, Schematic and Design Developments, and Contract Documents for numerous projects. Currently, Douglas is working with the Windsor Star and Windsor Armouries adaptation for the University of Windsor’s Downtown Campus.

A graduate of the University of Florida’s Master of Architecture (M.Arch.) program, Douglas gained extensive experience in custom residential renovations while working in New York City, prior to joining ERA. These renovations often involved working with landmarked structures, including the conversion of a turn-of-the-century commercial building in New York’s fashion district into finely appointed lofts and the repurposing of an 1854 fire house as a single family residence.
