Danielle holds a Masters of Architecture from McGill University and a Bachelor of Architectural Studies with a major in Design from Carleton University. Her thesis studied the Hamilton Mountain Brow property where the former Psychiatric Hospital (1876) once stood. She proposed possible architectural and landscape interventions relating to the historic place and its transformations over time. Since demolished, the last remaining part of the asylum is Century Manor which has sat vacant and has been the focus of heritage activists for its preservation.

Living in the area, she has always had a keen interest in this Mountain Brow site as the escarpment presents significant changes in the city fabric. Her proposal also studies connections between the areas of downtown and the mountain, experimenting with the escarpment’s topographical features.

Prior to working at ERA, Danielle has had experience working with heritage buildings on Sparks Street in Ottawa, proposed industrial revitalization ideas along City Road Basin in London, UK, and has on-site experience with many heritage properties across Ontario. Danielle’s experiences in both firms and the public sector have fostered her growing interest in adaptive reuse architecture and conservation practices.
