Clara Shipman

Clara Shipman is an architect and planner. She graduated from McGill University with a Master of Architecture and from the University of Toronto with a Master of Science in Planning. Before joining ERA, Clara worked for several years as a land use planner on large-scale studies and development approvals in Toronto. Prior to this, she worked for nearly a decade in the design and construction of residential and institutional buildings in Montreal, China, Haiti, The Gambia and Toronto. Clara’s research has focused on the adaptive re-use of places of worship, creative mixed-use buildings and social dimensions of space.
As a Project Manager at ERA, Clara engages with a wide range of projects involving heritage conservation and planning. She is driven to work collaboratively with stakeholders and make meaningful contributions to city building at various scales.
