Carolina Streber
Carolina is a registered Architect and Senior Project Manager at ERA Architects. She specializes in complex deep retrofits and affordable housing in existing buildings with residents in place. She effectively coordinates sustainable, resilient, comprehensive, and carbon-reduced design approaches for Adaptive Re-use, and Passive House projects. She is a Certified Passive House Designer.
Carolina brings a hands-on approach to designing new and adaptive reuse spaces based on high attention to technical detail and craftsmanship. Her passion for community-centered architecture, inspired by her contact with complex social realities, strengthens ERA’s initiatives.
Through projects in Canada and Nicaragua, Carolina leveraged public and private resources ensuring infrastructure funding and compliance support for diverse stakeholders. Under her leadership, participatory design processes succeeded in strengthening the capacity of vulnerable and multicultural communities to dialogue with municipal stakeholders and catalyze their community development effectively. Her contribution has enabled more than 1,000 affordable housing units across Ontario. Notable projects include Ken Soble Tower EnerPHit Renewal and St Hilda’s Towers Senior’s Campus Modernization.
She holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Universidad Centroamericana in Managua, Nicaragua. She studied abroad in Belgium and Argentina and speaks Spanish and French.
