Alex Okuka

Alex Okuka completed her Masters of Architecture at University of Toronto after receiving her Bachelor’s degree at Carleton University. Her graduate thesis explored a design for the existing Artist’s Residency on Toronto Island. The design proposes an environmental solution to coastal erosion in the form of a groyne field, while incorporating the architecture of the artist’s commune.

Prior to joining ERA, Alex worked on a variety of residential, commercial, and civil projects; with a focus in the design and programming of the new Guelph Public Library. Alex is interested in the adaptive re-use of existing buildings and has been involved in several projects at ERA that strive to provide housing through the rehabilitation of existing buildings.
