Abbi Kusch

En Français >

Abbi completed her Master of Architecture from the Royal Danish Academy of Arts in Copenhagen, Denmark and a Bachelor of Architectural Studies in Design from the Azrieli School of Architecture & Urbanism at Carleton University.

In Copenhagen she was a part of the new international programme, ‘Urbanism and Societal Change’, an interdisciplinary and research based approach to architecture and urban planning that addresses the dynamic conditions of contemporary society. Her graduate studies also entailed significant research and analysis on addressing the complex issues associated with changing use values and social demographics in Scandinavian urban and suburban neighbourhoods. At the end of her stay in Copenhagen, Abbi’s thesis challenged Canada’s suburban ownership culture by reimagining consumer logic through the transformation of a big-box store in London, Ontario into a self-storage and reuse centre for the sharing economy.

Prior to joining ERA Abbi worked with multiple firms in Ontario, as a team member on projects ranging from elementary schools, community centers to master planning of hospitals. In the intern role at ERA, Abbi’s work centers on architecture, urbanism and design research.
