ERA Architects Expands Leadership Team

by Julie Fish, September 8, 2025

ERA Architects is proud to announce the appointment of four long-standing team members to new leadership positions, recognizing their sustained contributions to the firm’s growth, culture, and impact.

Principals

Samantha Irvine

Samantha is a non-practicing lawyer and Principal at ERA Architects. She advises private and public sector clients in connection with strategic projects, complex approvals, and long-term management of cultural and heritage resources. She has been privileged to work on landmark projects at ERA that include large-scale urban assembly sites, major proposals within Heritage Conservation Districts, and decommissioned industrial complexes.

Shelley Ludman

Shelley is a licensed architect and Principal at ERA who specializes in transforming existing buildings and vacant sites into vibrant place-making projects. Her creative pragmatism has helped clients create meaningful places for local gathering, renovate agricultural barns for event and hospitality use, and convert a historic train station into a community service hub.

David Winterton

David Winterton is an author, registered architect, and Principal at ERA Architects. He co-leads ERA’s heritage custom residential portfolio, focusing on urban residences and clubhouses, properties in Heritage Conservation Districts, and other contextually sensitive neighbourhoods or landscapes, including rural estates. His focused research on early-20th-century Canadian architecture and architects led to the forthcoming publication of his book Toronto Edwardian: Frank Darling, Architect of Canada’s Imperial Age (McGill Queen’s University Press), the first monograph on important Canadian architect Frank Darling.

Director

Dan Eylon

A registered professional planner and Director at ERA Architects, Dan Eylon has expertise in heritage conservation and planning. Dan works collaboratively across a broad range of project scales and various levels of government. As Director at ERA, Dan will bring his attention to strategic planning and business integration at an enterprise level.
