ERA is pleased to announce that Division 11 of the of the Toronto Police Services (TPS), a project we worked on with Stantec Architecture, has been honored with an Award in Design Excellence from the Ontario Association of Architects (OAA)!
This adaptive reuse project began when a group of residents of Carlton Village neighbourhood wanted to save a local school from demolition. The Edwardian masonry building was not designated under the Ontario Heritage Act, but the meaning it held for residents persuaded the City to incorporate the school into a new design.
Following a thorough process collaborating with the community and TPS, ERA and Stantec were able to integrate the heritage fabric into a successful new campus including Police facilities, community facilities, and landscaped public space.
Congrats Stantec and thanks OAA!
