Nicole is a co-op student at ERA and is currently completing her bachelor’s in architectural science at Ryerson University. With a strong interest in social and environmental sustainability, Nicole intends to pursue Building Science in fourth year and, soon after, complete her master’s in architecture.
She has a particular interest in renovation architecture and space-efficient housing because of the challenge of spatial constraints. In studio projects, she has also experimented with integrating passive means of heating and cooling, as well as using natural light to shape spaces.
Previous work experience includes building documentation and repair drawings for T Smith Engineering, a forensic engineering firm in Toronto, including work with water-, fire-, and impact-damaged buildings.
In addition to her interests in architecture, Nicole is also part of the robotics team at Ryerson. She has done mechanical design work for their Mars Rover as well as some graphic design for team promotional material. Last year, the team placed 2nd internationally at the University Rover Challenge in Utah.
