ERA’s Shannon Clayton is working with the Architectural Conservancy of Ontario’s NextGen Group to organize their 2nd Annual Design Charrette. The event takes place at the Parliament Interpretive Center, 265 Front St. E., Sat., Sept 14, 2013.

Students and young professionals with an interest in design, planning, urban design, and heritage are encouraged to join in.

Participants work in groups of 5 or 6, and are given the majority of the day to develop and present an innovative scheme for a specific site. This year the focus will be a site adjacent to Toronto’s Distillery District, along Mill St. between Parliament and Trinity, including 18-20 Trinity St.

ERA Architects will be supporting the program by contributing technical drawings, 3D models, and historical research, and ERA principal Andrew Pruss will sit on the panel of judges.

Registration is $10 for ACO members and $15 for non-members. Lunch will be provided, as well as coffee, tea, and baked goods in the morning.

Register at eventbrite to secure your spot!

A summary and photos of last year’s event can be found on the Design Charrette Facebook page.
